Dry Action
Only had a couple of hours to fish this morning with Kelsey before she and her family left for Yellowstone. We wasted no time and got on the water. We beat most of the crowd and found some sweet side braids. The fish were more than cooperative. Hatches off all sorts! Plenty of dry action on golden stones, caddis and PMD's. The fish couldn't resist the caddis and we had a great few hours on the river, taking turns catching fish. Easy stuff! Kelsey, like always, was a pro.

Life is great
Back in Missoula and have internet again! The past couple weeks on the Mo have been good and the hatches have now exploded with PMD's, caddis and yellow sallies. With the hatches comes great dry fly fishing and with that comes the crowds. Work has been busy but life is great.
Fishing in the Missoula area has supposedly been great with plenty of dry action to be found. Trevor is back in Montana and currently guiding a little bit. He gave me some good info on where to take Kelsey, who is also here for the weekend. Hopefully I can put her on a good fish or two tomorrow.

Unfortunately, because of different schedules, I haven't had much time to fish with Melch and therefore don't have any pictures of him at all to post. He has had some great dry fly days lately and I actually have been learning stuff from him. he could be considered a dry fly addict as I am a streamer addict, although I am a little more crazy, I think.
In my 'other free time' I have been hiking a lot and preparing for a big hiking trip with my friends on the Olympic Peninsula in July. I have had some sweet adventures and even had some dangerous run ins with big horned sheep. Let me tell you now, they do not care if anything is below them on the steep slopes that they live on. They will kick as many big boulders down the mountain at you as they please.

I am Alive
I wasn't quite sure if I'd ever find a reliable internet source in Craig, MT and truth is, I really haven't found one yet. I'm currently in Missoula mooching off of various free wi-fi's before I head back to Craig. My first couple of weeks working in Craig have been great and I've had a fun time learning the shop processes, fishing all the time, and conquering some pretty awesome mountains and cliffs. Not sure when I'll be able to post from the oasis of greatness known as Craig, but I'll keep trying. Here's what I've been up to...

I climb cliffs
Cody even ran into one of these guys....
The fishing has been alright but the hatches suck (because there are none). Caddis will show up soon as well as PMD's. I'm excited to finally fish some major hatches and experience the Mo for what it is famous for; Dry fly fishing! Everything is well in Craig and I'll continue to try and keep the blog updated, even if I have to drive over to Missoula again.
